My reflection

In this class, I studied about making speech and group presentation. I searched for a lot of things. For example, Universal Studio Japan, Great Barrier Reef, Cheese-rolling Festival, MLC in NUFS, and so on. Presentation was difficult for me. Because I am poor at speaking English. I tried to speak lively, but I couldn't it well. However, I could learn right accent and pronunciation from teacher and my classmates's speech. Through this class, I think I could progress my speech skill a little. Also, I enjoyed making slides. I tried making slides which everyone can understand easily.
By listening classmates's presentations, I could know much information which I couldn't know, such as festivals of around the world, world heritage , detail of NUFS and stuff like that.
I will practice speaking more livery, and I want to do better presentation than before.

Media Learning Center

I’ m going to talk about DVDs and videos in MLC.
First, I searched for what kind of DVDs and videos are in MLC. There are many genre of film. For example, science fiction, musical, comedy, horror, drama, action, documentary, classic, anime, literary work, and so on. There are not only foreign movies, but Japanese movies.


Next, I will show you popular movie ranking in NUFS. It is the best 3 on November. First is [The Bucket List], this is a story about the doctor told two men that would have only 6 months to live. Two men go to adventure to realize things which they never do. Second is [Mrs. Doubt], third is[Christmas Carol]. I think you can find your favorite films.

School

I will introduce about lunch time at school in Japan. Most of the kindergarten, elementary school, junior high school in Japan provides the school lunch for students. All students eat the same lunch which is considered the nourishment balance by nutritionist.

The school lunch is used many seasonal ingredients. And we can eat special dessert on special day. For example, we can eat Christmas cakes as a part of school lunch in Christmas. Few students don’t like the school lunch.

Most of the high school and university in Japan doesn’t provide the school lunch for students. Some students prepare for own lunch box, others go to cafeteria. Students enjoy talking and eating with friends in lunch time.

Cheese Rolling Festival

I’m going to introduce about the history of the Cheese-Rolling Festival.

The Cheese-Rolling Festival is an annual event which is held on the Spring Bank Holiday at Cooper’s hill. The origin of this festival doesn’t become shown, but it is said that this festival is at least 200 years old. There are many injured people every year, so this festival is criticized. But this festival is continued to be hold by requests of people.

It is a traditional festival by and for the people of the local village, but now people from all over the world take part in the Cheese-Rolling Festival.

Great Barrier Reef

I will talk about history of the Great Barrier Reef.

The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef in the world. It is composed of about 3,000 individual reefs and about 900 islands.

The length of the coral sea is about 2,000 kilometers, the area of the sea is about 200,000 square kilometers, and the spread of the sea is about 20 to 240 kilometers. The coral layer has begun to be formed 15,000 years ago, and now the thickness of the coral reef reaches 152 meters at the maximum. About 350 types coral reefs are living, and many fishes and shells, fowl are inhabiting it. In 1981, Great Barrier Reef was registered as a nature heritage site. And it became a sanctuary for wildlife.

Universal Studios Japan

After back to the future, we go to restaurant. We eat “Romance Pasta set”.

After we eat lunch, we go to Shrek adventure. It is very exciting. Spectacular images lead you to a world of new adventures.

Next, we go to Toto&Friends. It is joyful animal show from the “Wizard of Oz”.

Next, we go to Magical Oz-Go-Round. We go to the village of the Wizard in a merry-go-round.

Finally, we go to WICKED. This is a special edition of a Tony Award Winning Broadway musical.


And we go home. We take a train for Sakurajima line to Osaka.
Then we take a Meijin Highway bus to Nagoya. It takes three hours and half. It cost about 29,000 each yen.

We enjoyed this trip.
